Yet another milestone for the social promotion association FuturLab – Costruiamo il Futuro chosen, among hundreds of national entities, by the European Policies Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers as part of the Conference on the Future of Europe launched by the European Union .
Futurlab has distinguished itself for the information and training activities it has been carrying out since 2015, the year it was founded, for the work carried out with the School of Political Training for the Common Good and for having created a virtuous circle between the actors of the territory, namely economic operators, institutions and intermediate bodies.
The president, Antonio La Ferrara, presented the association . “It is an honor that Futurlab, the association that I founded and continue to represent thanks to the support of a board of directors made up of excellent professionals, competent members and a scientific committee of the highest level, has been chosen among many in the field of such an important initiative. It is of fundamental importance – explains La Ferrara – that the Conference on the Future of Europe involves the involvement of Third Sector entities in order to understand the need to promote the social economy as a driver for the future of the Old Continent. At the same time, it is essential to legally regulate the Third Sector and the activities of non-profit organizations in the European Union, as there is a lack of specific regulation. I hope for greater participation of third sector bodies in European tenders and a harmonized tax system also at European level; it is essential that the European institutions establish fiscal measures capable of recognizing and enhancing the social impact of the activities carried out by third sector bodies".
It is also necessary to rethink the economic model by promoting and supporting the idea of sustainable development, changing the heart of the economy, creating a network between the key stakeholders of the territory, public administration, credit institutions, economic operators and above all intermediate bodies, citizens, families , associations through the affirmation of the principle of horizontal subsidiarity enshrined in our Constitutional Charter.
“Now is the moment in which our Government must press on the accelerator – continues President La Ferrara – to guarantee advantageous taxation to third sector bodies, also within the EU. Strong government action combined with support from the third sector can ensure that the declarations of intent produced in recent years and specifically in recent months with various events at European level do not remain stuck in a mere exhortative dimension but are translated into concrete facts ”.
FuturLab proposes to include, within the program of the third educational year of the School of political training which it organizes in collaboration with the Foundation for Subsidiarity, a day dedicated to the Conference on the Future of Europe to be opened to Sicilian civil society and organized with the Department of European Politics and the Free University of Politics.
